臺灣花蓮的東海岸，內倚中央山脈，外與太平洋海岸山脈相鄰，延伸出獨有的壯闊山海。機緣巧合下，我們被賦予有飯店管理經驗的業主所託，為其一圓自營旅宿夢想。在確認地處市中心又與海景接壤的絕景基地後，我們便依著地景，塑造與海天相容，又能與其他競爭旅宿有所區隔的空間。
On Taiwan's eastern coast in Hualien, nestled between the Central Mountain Range and the Pacific Coastal Mountain Range, lies a magnificent landscape. Through fortuitous circumstances, we were entrusted by an owner with hotel management experience to fulfil their dream of owning and operating a boutique lodging. Upon discovering a prime location that seamlessly blends urban convenience with coastal beauty, we set out to design a space that harmonises with the sea and sky while offering an unique proposition compared to other competitive accommodations.
日出、椰樹、南洋、海天一色，享受太平洋海風吹拂，看去盡是蔚藍，這都是海景日常，被大自然療癒無疑是建築借景的最佳歸宿，這都是優勢。但花蓮終屬偏鄉，與大城脈動稍有差距，循此差異，我們決定將旅宿主視覺定位在傳達精緻時尚，期許精裝為硬體，置入網紅所好等自媒文化為載體，順勢可宣傳造勢，又與當地為數眾多的傳統旅店能有所區隔。當隨潮流所致，逐鎖定客群在年輕化、外籍旅者、潮流愛好者等，投其喜好營造蔚為風尚的東海岸精品旅宿打卡點。
Sunrise, coconut trees, the South Seas, and a boundless expanse of ocean blue – basking in the Pacific breeze, all you see is serenity. This is the daily sea view, where nature's healing touch finds its best sanctuary amidst the architecture. These are the advantages. However, Hualien remains somewhat remote, with a slight disparity from the bustling urban centres. Acknowledging this difference, we decided to position our guesthouse visually as a conveyer of sophistication and style, aiming for exquisite interior design as our hardware, incorporating elements appealing to influencers and other social media cultures. This strategic move allows for both publicity and differentiation from the other traditional accommodations in the area. Following the current trends, we target a younger, international, and trend-conscious clientele, catering to their preferences to establish our boutique lodging as the epitome of East Coast chic.
品牌取名「漫漫日出」，意即空間已在日出前定位好最佳觀景視角，對應英文名「BEFORE SUNRISE」，意將美好之境早已等待於日出前，如此以空間優勢定位情境形象不言而喻。建築一共六層，一樓為迎賓大廳，有櫃臺與交誼空間，並規劃有品牌主視覺牆，滿足過往熙來旅客加深印象輔助自媒打卡。大廳裝飾材定調精緻，立面圍塑反覆對比色，在灰白間層次跳出線條分割趣味。天花板有木格柵、磁磚有格紋對角線、櫃臺上方以燈帶線照明、櫥窗背景有鏤空分割，氛圍感已拉滿細膩。
The brand name "漫漫日出" (Màn màn rìchū) translates to "Before Sunrise," indicating that the space has already positioned itself for the best viewing angle before the sunrise. Correspondingly, the English name conveys the idea that the beauty of the surroundings has long awaited before the sunrise. This positioning of the spatial advantage in shaping the image of the environment is self-evident.
The building comprises six floors. The ground floor serves as a welcoming lobby, featuring a reception desk and a social space. It also includes a branded main visual wall, catering to past and future guests, enhancing their impression and aiding in social media check-ins. The lobby's decorations are finely selected, with facades featuring contrasting colours, creating an intriguing layering effect amidst shades of grey and white.
The ceiling is adorned with wooden lattice grids, while the tiles exhibit diagonal patterns. The counter is illuminated by the light strips, and the display windows have intricately carved partitions. The ambiance exudes a sense of refinement and elegance, creating a sophisticated atmosphere.
二到五樓四間客房，為加深印象迥異，呈現不同風格精裝。或線板堆疊營造輕奢，或垂墜吊燈、鞦韆營造浪漫。室內依循窗景延伸主題，面海向皆以加厚抗風的大面玻璃幃幕，可提升隔熱並維持觀景通透。海邊氣候對建材選擇較為嚴苛，在立面視覺上刻意選擇鋪貼多種類磁磚，克服牆面潮濕不易維護等隱憂。有厚重多彩的花磚、大理石紋磚、巖板磚、木紋磚等，更容易疊加色感層次。室外方面冷氣外機與欄桿扶手座椅等，皆選擇特殊抗鏽塗裝。六樓屋頂平時可供觀景，另增設太陽能板加強節能，供水方面設置有熱泵熱水器，可落實節電為環保盡心。
The second to fifth floors comprise four guest rooms, each meticulously decorated in different styles to create distinct impressions. Featuring stacked linear panels to evoke a sense of understated luxury; or incorporating hanging pendant lights and swings to cultivate a romantic ambiance. The theme extends along the window views, rooms facing the sea are equipped with thick, wind-resistant glass curtains, enhancing insulation while maintaining unobstructed views.
Given the harsh coastal climate, material selection is critical. Various types of tiles are deliberately chosen for the facade to circumvent issues such as wall dampness and maintenance. These include heavy and colourful floral tiles, marble-patterned tiles, slate tiles, and wood-patterned tiles, allowing for the creation of layered colour sensations.
For outdoor elements like air-conditioning units, handrails, and armchairs are coated with special anti-corrosion paint. The rooftop of the sixth floor serves as a viewing platform and is additionally equipped with solar panels to enhance energy efficiency. For water supply, heat pump water heaters are installed to facilitate energy conservation and environmental protection efforts.
夢想是優雅的，實踐需要勇氣，落實執行更是挑戰。此案讓我們團隊在空間美學、品牌行銷、地景觀察、競爭市場等課題上，都開闊了更多元的視野。
Dreams are elegant, but bringing them to fruition requires courage, and executing them is even more challenging. This project has broadened our team's perspective on various challenges such as spatial aesthetics, brand marketing, local landscape observation, and the competitive markets.
